Commissioner Cioloş in Romania

Meeting with Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc

Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Dacian Cioloş visited Romania between 13-15 October, holding a series of meetings and debates on the future of the Common Agricultural Policy with representatives of the agricultural organisations and members of the agriculture committees in the Romanian Parliament.

During the official visit, Commissioner Cioloş had meetings with Prime Minister Emil Boc and with the Minister for agriculture and rural development, Valeriu Tabără.  

The commissioner attended the conference "Contribution of the EU Funds to the Integration of Roma" organised by the European Commission in Bucharest. During his  speech, the commissioner underlined that "the cornerstone of any solution leading to greater integration of the Roma community is the participation of Roma community leaders and organisations in every stage of this process, as equal partners with equal responsibility for the impact of such programmes".  

In Sibiu, Commissioner Cioloş participated at the conference "Semi-subsistence farming in the EU: Current situation and future prospects" organised by the Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development and discussed the reform of the Common Agriculture Policy post 2013 with the representatives of Romanian National Bovine & Ovine Federations.
