Eurostat works with several groups of countries that share similar challenges. Eurostat’s primary goal is to find synergies and join efforts with international organisations. 

Key partners are: 

  • European Free Trade Association (EFTA)
  • United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD)
  • United Nations (UN) regional economic commissions, such as the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

Eurostat’s regional cooperation activities mainly focus on the following regional country groups

  • Western Balkans and Türkiye
  • European Neighbourhood Policy group: it comprises neighbouring countries to the South - Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine*, Syria**, and Tunisia - and to the East - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine
  • 5 central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan
  • Africa
  • countries of Latin America.

*This designation shall not be construed as recognition of a State of Palestine and is without prejudice to the individual positions of the EU countries on this issue.
