Eurostat engages in and promotes targeted bilateral external relations with several non-EU countries. These relations generally serve to exchange information, expertise, and good practices that help to address global challenges, such as digitalisation or trade. Such actions take place in the framework of the EU's relationship with countries as mentioned below and in liaison with the European External Action Service (EEAS).

Eurostat has formal bilateral administrative arrangements and actively promotes bilateral relations in the field of statistics with partner statistical authorities in

  • Argentina
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • Chile
  • Colombia
  • India
  • Mexico
  • South Korea.

High level meetings between Eurostat and the statistical authorities of the above-mentioned countries are regularly organised to follow up on cooperation arrangements, to agree on the priorities and areas of common interest as well as to define annual activity plans.

Cooperation activities cover many technical domains and usually involve the exchange of information and practices, methodological advice, co-authorship of statistical publications, and organisations of workshops/seminars.
