EU members must provide their annual and quarterly national data for the main aggregates to Eurostat in accordance with the legal deadlines. These data are validated and published in the Eurostat database without further processing.

EU members' national annual and quarterly data are revised according to national schedules. Eurostat published revised data as soon as they become available.

The questionnaire on QNA (2016) provides further information on how countries compile their quarterly national accounts. It includes information on the chain-linking methodology applied by EU members and the seasonally adjusted data.

Many Member States provide a description of the sources and methods they use for the compilation of the quarterly national accounts. Most Member States also described their practises regarding the estimation of employment data. These documents are available on the pages QNA inventories and employment questionnaires.

In addition, Eurostat launched a questionnaire in 2019 to collect information from national compilers on the compilation of data on gross fixed capital formation and associated capital stocks as well as balance sheets for non-financial assets, which are documented on the page on non-financial assets.
