Contact us > Visits EN REVAMP

Eurostat receives requests for visits from journalists and press every year. Media representatives want to learn more about the organisation’s day-to-day activities as well as meet with officials and staff.

It’s not just media, however. Academics, university students, lawmakers, NGOs, and others are also interested in the work of Eurostat.

Eurostat visitors want to discover the world of statistics: Everything from a better understanding of the role they play in daily life, through to detailed research into specific subject areas.

When and how

Visits can be arranged from Monday afternoon to Friday noon. Morning sessions are typically scheduled between 10.00 and 12.00. Afternoon sessions are between 14.00 and 16.00.

We welcome groups of 8 to 25 people. Visits from university students in the fields of economics, finance, statistics, European studies etc., are especially popular. Participants should be familiar with the world of official statistics or at least have an interest in this area.

Visits to Eurostat are free of charge.

What we offer

We can provide two kinds of presentations during a visit:

  • a general overview of Eurostat, its role, activities, and the products and services we offer. Naturally, we will answer all your questions
  • a presentation on an area of specific interest

Presentations are usually given in English. French and German presentations may be possible for some sessions depending on subject area and availability of information officers.

Request a visit

Interest in visits to Eurostat is very high. To ensure availability please make requests at least eight weeks ahead of the planned date.

Universities, civil servants, NGOs, or other specific interested parties can send an email to ESTAT VISITS with some details about your interests so we can better meet your request.

If you are a journalist, media representative or a member of the press, you can contact the Eurostat press service.

Following a temporary suspension due to the Covid-19 situation, physical visits are possible again though any developing circumstances will be monitored and could impact future visits.

Virtual visits may also be possible.

Visits cannot be accommodated when Eurostat's offices are closed or on public holidays.

Eurostat may cancel planned visits due to exceptional circumstances.
