EUROSTAT

EUROSTAT’s mission is to provide the European Union with a high-quality statistical information service. It provides statistics at a European level which enable comparisons between countries and regions.

EUROSTAT thus provides a wealth of data on science, technology and innovation which can be found or purchased on its Website.

A key development is that EUROSTAT is now working with national statistical offices to provide comparable R&D data with only a few months delay instead of a few years in the past. This will be extremely valuable in providing quasi-“instant” indicators of R&D trends to policymakers.
