Speech at the ICCAT Annual meeting plenary "ICCAT to keep momentum on recovery of fish stocks"

Commissioner Damanaki delivered a speech during the annual meeting plenary of the International Commission for Conservation of the Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) in Cape Town, South Africa on November 21st.
In her speech Commissioner Damanaki has welcomed the work undertaken by ICCAT and its members towards the recovery of fish stocks under its jurisdiction such as Bluefin tuna and swordfish. She also highlighted the need for ICCAT to keep the momentum and continue its path towards the best science, to keep better compliance and enforcement high on the agenda and to ensure that this year's management decisions are fully in line with scientific advice.
Speech at the EURDODOM General Assembly

Commissioner Damanaki delivered a speech on the outermost regions during the General Assembly of EURODOM (Europe & French Outermost Regions) in Brussels. On this occasion, numerous representatives of fisheries organisations and presidents of regional Committees for Fisheries had travelled to Brussels to take part in the General Assembly. Commissioner used this opportunity to exchange views with these professional of outermost regions fiheries and underlined the advantages which the new Common Fisheries Policy will bring for these regions.
Illegal Fishing: There is no way back

Commissioner Damanaki delivered a speech on Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated fishing in the framework of the Conference "Ending Illegal Fishing" from the Environmental Justice Foundation.
Distinguished speakers of the panel included MEP Gabriel Mato Ardrover, Minister of Gabon, Mr Julien Nkoghe Bekale in charge of Agriculture and Fisheries, Minister of Seychelles Mr Peter Sinon in charge of natural resources and Mr Carlos Dominguez, Secretary General for Fisheries of Spain.
Speech "Europe and young people" at the European Youth Conference

Commissioner Damanaki delivered a speech on "Europe and young people" during the European Youth Conference. The Conference was organised in Athens by the Greek-German School (Ελληνογερμανικής Αγωγής). Mr Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament, visiting Athens, also participated in this Conference.
