Kandidatenländer - Finanzstatistiken des Sektors Staat
Eurostat closely monitors the development of government finance and EDP statistics of EU Candidate and Potential Candidate Countries to help them comply with the EU legislation (EU acquis).
To this end and to prepare them for EU membership, Eurostat has integrated the Candidate and Potential Candidate Countries into its government finance and EDP statistics working processes. Thereby they learn, for example, how to apply the concepts and methodology of ESA 2010 and the Manual of Government Deficit and Debt (MGDD).
This also includes technical visits to the countries and publication of GFS and EDP data, whenever their quality allows publication. The number and quality of GFS and EDP data transmitted to Eurostat varies among the Candidate and Potential Candidate Countries.
The Candidate Countries are: Albania, Moldova, the Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Türkiye and Ukraine. In addition, the European Union has signed Stabilisation and Association Agreements with Bosnia and Herzegovina and with Kosovo.
