Aladdin D. Rillo is Assistant Director and Head of Finance and Macroeconomic Surveillance for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat.

Mr. Rillo joined the ASEAN secretariat in 2000 and served in various capacities as Senior Economist in the Bureau for Financial Integration until 2006. Subsequently, he worked as Senior Manager for Price Waterhouse Coopers LLP in Canada (2006-2007) and as an international consultant and advisor to the Asian Development Bank (2007-2008).

Prior to joining the ASEAN secretariat, Mr. Rillo held various positions in PJB Pacific Securities (Philippines) Inc., the Development Bank of Singapore, the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) of the Philippines, and the National Manpower and Youth Council of the Philippines.

Mr. Rillo has also been a Research Director and Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Business of the De La Salle University in Manila, and a lecturer on economics at the University of Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific University. He has published numerous papers in specialised publications and is in charge of the preparation of the ASEAN Surveillance Report used by ASEAN finance ministers during their annual meeting.

Mr. Rillo holds a PhD in economics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
