The mission of the EIT is to increase Europe's innovation capacity and to bring new solutions to major societal challenges. Steered by an independent Governing Board, the EIT will foster and promote excellence in entrepreneurship education, research, technology and business.

The EIT will perform its activities through highly integrated Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) that will create new businesses, develop entrepreneurial people, produce new innovation models for the benefit of society at large and inspire other innovation players worldwide.The EIT Governing Board is now looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic first Director to organise and manage the activities of this new initiative. The successful candidate will be a person with significant expertise and a wide reputation in the areas where the EIT operates.
