Fossil fuels grew from 1 200 000 million gigawatt-hours in 1990 to a peak of 1 600 000 million gigawatt-hours in 2007 and decreased then to 1 100 000 million gigawatt-hours in 2021. 2) Renewables grew from 300 000 gigawatt-hours in 1990 to 1 100 000 million gigawatt-hours in 2021. 3) Nuclear grew from 700 000 gigawatt-hours in 1990 to a peak of 900 000 gigawatt-hours in 2004 and decreased then to 700 000 gigawatt-hours in 2021. 4) Other, non-specified sources were negligible in comparison with the above three sources.
