Detailed definition Share of persons who are at-risk-of-poverty and/or severely materially deprived and/or living in (quasi-)jobless households (i.e. households with very low work intensity). The AROPE indicator is based on the combination of the three indicators, i.e. it is based on the sum of those persons belonging to one or more of these categories.
Breakdowns gender (for people above 18); age - 0-17 (0-5; 6-11; 12-17), 18-64, 65+
Comments/ Policy relevance Indicator used to assess progress towards the Europe 2020 target of a reduction in the population at risk of poverty or social exclusion by at least 20 million compared to the situation observed in 2010 (based on 2008 EU-SILC data).
