The European Alliance for Apprenticeships is a multi-stakeholder initiative steered by the European Commission. The originator of the pledge is solely responsible for implementing the actions outlined in the pledge.
Description of the Organisation:Since 2017, when the legal framework for the dual apprenticeship scheme was adopted in Romania, the Municipality has been directly involved in promoting this opportunity among companies, students and parents. Since then, more than 380 students have been enrolled in dual apprenticeships. The revitalisation of the professional education in the city is based on the cooperation between the employers and VET schools, with the leading role of the Municipality. Through the 2019 strategic project 'Learning by doing' (Interreg Danube Transnational Programme), the Municipality promoted their model based on tripartite cooperation, called 'from dual to trial', promoting a decentralised government approach to education and especially to the professional sector. The Municipality is fully committed to supporting access to skills, qualifications and relevant jobs for students, including throughlocal financial support schemes.
