Description of the Organisation:
“Centrum leren en werken” (CLW) Oostende is a secondary vocational school, where students can study for two days and get practical experience for the other three days of the week. The programmes focus on developing not only the students’ theoretical knowledge but also improving their skills and attitudes to work. The Centre supports the professional development of students who have dropped out or have done poorly in regular schools. The offer is unique as it is creating new opportunities for the most difficult students. They have the opportunity to develop skills in seven professions: construction, automotive service and technical services, elderly care, catering, retail and welding. By undertaking both theoretical and practical training, students can earn a recognized secondary education diploma. The school has participated in ‘Erasmus dual’ programmes, and is looking to undertake more activities at the European level.
