The European Alliance for Apprenticeships is a multi-stakeholder initiative steered by the European Commission. The originator of the pledge is solely responsible for implementing the actions outlined in the pledge.
Description of the Organisation:The Dirección General de Educación Secundaria, Formación Profesional y Régimen Especial (DGESFPYRE) is the Regional Authority in charge of the development and management of the Initial Vocational Training (IVET) and Dual VET programmes in the Community of Madrid. General IVET offers 170 professional qualifications arranged in levels EQF 3, 4 and 5. Curricula focus on professional and transversal competences (2000 h in 2 years) and implement a period of work-based learning (WBL) for 20% of its duration. Dual VET programmes (apprenticeships) enhance the WBL feature to 40%. From the 2018/19 (when we joined EAfA) to the 2021/22 course, the DGESFPYRE has upheld vocational training and apprenticeships, increasing the number of students enrolled (27% IVET, 14% Dual) and groups (36% IVET, 11% Dual). Specific programmes are in the process of addressing the green/digital challenges, aiming to develop educational actions in a sustainable learning environment and providing multimedia resources.
