The European Alliance for Apprenticeships is a multi-stakeholder initiative steered by the European Commission. The originator of the pledge is solely responsible for implementing the actions outlined in the pledge.
Description of the Organisation:Regione Lombardia is an Italian regional authority, with 9.9 millions inhabitants. The Region is responsible for the governance and financing of VET and high-level technical training. Within its VET activities, the region finances apprenticeships, notably by contributing financially to training centres, that are responsible for providing students and apprentices with training while they work in a company. Regione Lombardia aims at continuing its financing activities to increase the supply of apprenticeships. In 2015, Regional Law no. 30/2015 promoted the dual system in the Region through the introduction of work-based learning activities: a) School-work alternance, which can cover up to 50% of IVET regional programmes; b) Apprenticeship for Vocational Qualification and Diploma for at least 5% of enrolled students in the 3rd and 4th years of regional IVET.
