The European Alliance for Apprenticeships is a multi-stakeholder initiative steered by the European Commission. The originator of the pledge is solely responsible for implementing the actions outlined in the pledge.
Description of the Organisation:The Global Workers Union (GWU) Youths is a Voluntary Organisation, which is affiliated and forms part of the GWU, the largest trade union in Malta, and represents individuals under the age of 35. GWU Youths directly recruits apprentices to GWU offices, which benefits both parties but also apprentices. By employing more apprentices yearly, GWU Youths provides them with a unique opportunity to be exposed to negotiations for collective agreements, networking with employees and top-level management, and representation of employees in industrial tribunals. The day-to-day activities and overall management remain under the responsibility of GWU Youths, allowing them to maintain their involvement with existing and upcoming students. To ensure their presence and accessibility to students, GWU Youths have established a branch at the largest college in Malta. This strategic move enables students to conveniently access information and resources on their own campus.
