EaSI Technical Assistance Programme in May 2022 - digital, inclusive, innovative

In May, the European Union is offering a number of EaSI TA Programme’s events, targeting the European microfinance institutions who are keen to hear about the latest updates on innovative digital business models, microlending, and insights from the microfinance field.

Upcoming events:

3-4 May 2022 - Study Visit to Romania on Adie’s Approach to Microlending under an EaSI Guarantee Agreement

The study visit will take place in Hunedoara County, Romania on 03-04 May 2022 at the head offices of the hosting institution - Association CAR West Region. Approximately 35 participants from Romanian credit unions will take part in the on-site event and engage in an interactive discussion with representatives of the visiting institution Adie, France.

The primary objective of this event is to provide participants good practice examples and support on methodologies concerning microlending that has been implemented by the peer microfinance institution.

On the first day of the study visit, participants will be presented a general overview of Adie’s operational activities and discuss aspects of background of microloan clients, appraisal form, guarantee schemes and evaluation of loan applications through practical exercises and case studies.

On the second day of this on-site event, participants will discuss scoring and recovery systems, engaging in interactive discussions on how the presented innovative solutions could be adopted in their own, home institutions.

20 May 2022 - Study Visit to Qredits: Qredits' digitalisation journey

Qredits is a progressive and forward-thinking microfinance organisation. Since its start in 2009, the microfinance institution (MFI) has used technology intensively, while retaining the personal ‘high-touch’ character of microfinance where needed. Through its partnership with Singlify it now supports and advises other MFIs across the EU Member states.

On May 20, 2022, Qredits invites European microfinance institutions to participate in a study visit taking place at its headquarters in Almelo, Netherlands. During this one-day Study Visit, the Qredits’ team will present and share its experience in providing micro-entrepreneurs with innovative, digital solutions and approaches to their clients.

26 May 2022 - Enhancing social and financial performance of the Romanian MF sector during the pandemic

This microfinance workshop taking place on May 26 will bring together a panel of speakers, including representatives from the Romanian Microfinance Association and Romanian microfinance institutions, who will share their perspectives on impact of the pandemic on the financial and social performance of the Romanian microfinance sector.

On par with insights from the field, the speakers will present successfully adopted strategies by the Romanian MFIs to cope with challenges brought by the pandemic and to maintain the MFIs’ performance and continuous support to microcredit beneficiaries.
