The main objective of the 12th UfM Regional Platform on Employment and Labour was to prepare the 5th UfM Ministerial on Employment and Labour.

This meeting has been articulated around 4 sessions and allowed for interactive discussions with the participants.

Session 1 was dedicated to the state of play of the monitoring exercise involving 11 volunteering UfM Member States.

Session 2 allowed the participants to discuss the organisation of the Ministerial meeting including the draft agenda for the Ministerial Policy Conference.

In session 3, the main outlines of the draft Declaration, to be adopted at the end of the Ministerial meeting, were presented to the participants.

Session 4 updated the participants about recent developments. The UfM Secretariat presented the new UfM Youth Strategy 2030 – Euro-Mediterranean Youth Towards a Common Goal. DG NEAR and DG EMPL presented the Team Europe Initiative on Jobs through Trade and Investment, as well as the newly adopted Action Plan on Social Economy and initiative on platform work.

It was also the occasion to present some of the forthcoming projects under the new programming 2021-2027, notably the actions related to social economy and the EU Youth Guarantee in the Mediterranean region.
