Closing the gaps and making sure that all people at work can effectively enjoy the rights they are entitled to, whatever their status, is what Social Agenda 55 is all about.

This involves creating new rights, as is the case with the new, groundbreaking work-life balance Directive and the one on working conditions transparency and predictability.

The August issue also covers the proposed Recommendation on access to social protection for all (which is still going through the EU decision-making process), the launch of a debate on more efficient law making in social policy, the creation of the European Labour Agency and the International Labour Organisation’s centenary initiative on the future of work.
