Portugal hosted the twenty-first and final EQAVET Peer Review of the 2022-2023 cycle on

The Portuguese NRP, ANQEP hosted the Peer Review on 26-28 July in Porto.

Six members of the EQAVET Network from Bulgaria, Germany, Latvia, Luxembourg and Spain acted as peers.

Portugal has developed an EQAVET national model to ensure the implementation of quality assurance systems by VET providers implementing professional courses of IVET level 4 targeting young people. The model involves granting an EQAVET Seal for a three-year period to VET schools pending their alignment with EQAVET based on a set of six criteria. Expert external assessors are hired to evaluate the level of alignment with EQAVET for each provider.

The model was launched in 2020, and its first recipients will undergo re-assessment starting from 2023 to renew the seal.   The recent Peer Review offered valuable insights for refining and enhancing the current model.

Key topics discussed during the Peer Review included the assessment criteria for alignment with the national EQAVET model, the follow-up methodology based on yearly progress reports, and the vital role played by the NRP in the entire process.

Read the flash report summarising the main outcomes of the discussion.

Additionally, a separate report containing detailed feedback from the peer reviewers will be shared with the host country.
