In the framework of the International Social Film Festival of Castilla-La Mancha (FECISO), taking place in Toledo (Spain) from 7 to 17 to October, the European Commission is sponsoring this year the first edition of the “European Pillar of Social Rights” Award.

The prize aims at rewarding the short film (fiction or documentary) that better illustrates one of the 20 principles of the European Pillar.

Films are indeed a powerful tool to portray reality and to open up a dialogue on social issues such as education, work-life balance, unemployment, healthcare, childcare, housing, disabilities, poverty, long-term care and equal opportunities.

The selection includes short-film from France, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Turkey.

Make sure to check out all the films and stay tuned to learn about the winner after the award ceremony on 17 October.
