Survey - Sustainable OSS Communities in the Public Sector

The European Commission is putting together Guidelines for Building Sustainable Open Source Software (OSS) Communities in the Public Sector. The guidelines will serve as a practical tool suitable for OSS communities and enthusiasts who would like to create and maintain sustainable and healthy communities.

The number of OSS communities in the public sector is steadily growing. On the other hand, research shows that public sector OSS communities often struggle with sustainability, which hinders their success. If you would like to help shaping the guidelines, you can take part in our survey.

The objective of the survey is to collect first-hand experience and information on the factors that impact the sustainability of public sector open source communities and highlight case studies of open source software initiatives led by the public sector. The gathered data will be used to create community-driven practical guidelines.

Have you been involved with any open source communities in the public sector? Are you working in the open source sector and have collaborated with a public administration? Then make your voice heard and contribute to the survey on Sustainability of Open Source Communities in the Public sector.

The survey will take approximately 15 minutes and will be open until 16 February 2020. Click here to participate.
