ISA² - Interoperability solutions for public administrations, businesses and citizens

SOLID workshop highlights

On 6 October the SEMIC team organised a fully digital Solid Hands-on Workshop, guided by Ruben Verborgh, professor at Ghent University and member of the Solid core team. This event gathered 35 experts from 10 countries and allowed an in-depth look at the Solid project and its practical applications.

Solid is a technology, like the Web, but a new level of standard which adds to the existing protocols to make it more powerful, particularly to empower individuals at home and at work.

Participants were introduced to the Solid core concepts and architecture, followed by a practical use-case presenting how decentralised systems are currently used in public administrations, namely the Citizen Profile of the Flemish Information Agency. Moreover, a hands-on session took place, allowing each participant to create a separate Solid data pod in a specially designed test environment.

The SEMIC Team thanks all participants for their active involvement in the event and interesting questions and insights. All presentation materials can be accessed online at this link.
