ISA² - Interoperability solutions for public administrations, businesses and citizens

Save the date: SEMIC 2020

The 1st digital edition of SEMIC, the annual semantic interoperability conference, will take place fully online on 15 October 2020. The event, organised by the ISA² Programme of the European Commission in collaboration with the German Presidency of the Council of the EU, will digitally bring together policy makers, IT practitioners and researchers interested in topics related to semantic interoperability for public administrations. The theme of SEMIC 2020 is ‘Sustainable Data Services’.

Over the last decade, administrations have set free data from isolated silos in the direction towards Linked and Open Data. The 1st digital SEMIC will demonstrate how large-scale data and vocabulary providers, such as governments and W3C, can implement semantic versioning while considering complex dependencies. SEMIC 2020 participants will have a chance to follow parallel sessions about cross-border data transfers between public administrations, data-centric design and how interoperability can help us exchange COVID19-related datasets across Member States. These topics are illustrated by concrete case-studies, where participants can learn about examples of cross-border data exchange between public administrations and potential of new technologies.

The conference programme, registration page and other practicalities will be available soon on the SEMIC 2020 official page on JoinUp. Follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn for more updates and don’t forget to use the official hashtag of the event: #SEMIC2020
