ISA² - Interoperability solutions for public administrations, businesses and citizens

Paper on ISA² specification awarded in Japan

A paper describing the StatDCAT Application Profile (StatDCAT-AP) was selected as one of the best two papers at the 4th International Workshop on Semantic Statistics in Japan.

The StatDCAT-AP is a new data specification developed under the ISA² programme as an extension of the DCAT-AP solution.

The DCAT-AP provides a common specification for describing data sets, enabling their exchange between various portals. Thanks to this, users can find information across borders and sectors more easily, and from a single point of access.

The StatDCAT-AP brings the statistical and open data communities closer by enhancing the visibility of statistical data sets and facilitating their inclusion in open government data portals. It provides a new standard for the retrieval of statistical tables, making it easier to find statistical data. The StatDCAT-AP was created by an open working group co-chaired by the Publications Office of the European Union and Eurostat. The draft version of the StatDCAT-AP was under public review until 31 October 2016.

ISA² is a EUR 131 million programme of the European Commission to develop and share digital solutions that enable interoperable cross-border and cross-sector public services for the benefit of public administrations, businesses and citizens. Among other, the ISA² programme supports a large range of activities for semantic interoperability. Read more about these semantic actions and solutions. Most of the ISA² solutions are open source and can be used free of charge.
