The Location Interoperability Framework Observatory (LIFO) monitors location interoperability good practices in Europe, basing its assessment on the level of adoption of the EULF Blueprint recommendations.

Ahead of publishing the 2020 results, LIFO is launching a new interactive dashboard, which contains the results from 2019. Users can select, compare and analyse country results and cross to the Blueprint recommendations on the newly updated Joinup page. ELISE support to the development of the Geospatial Knowledge Infrastructure

The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) and Geospatial World, with a host of organisations worldwide, agreed to develop a collaborative approach towards advancing the role of Geospatial Knowledge Infrastructure (GKI) in the global society, economy and environment.

The ISA2 ELISE Action has supported phase 1 of the development of the GKI which hast resulted in the publication of the White Paper on GKI: The Power of Where.

This white paper provides a blueprint to integrate digital economies, societies, and citizens with geospatial approaches, data, and technologies. It aims to benefit people and the planet with location-based knowledge, services, and automation that drives inclusive growth, sustainable development, and global well-being.

The building of a blueprint for a GKI consist of three phases in a three-year-long partnership program:

  • Phase 1: looking at conceptualisation and assessment in a broader frame
  • Phase 2: technology and user industry engagement, and,
  • Phase 3: advocacy and deployment.
