IMAPS: assess the interoperability maturity of your digital public service!

We invite you to assess the interoperability maturity of your digital public service with the brand new version of IMAPS (v1.2.0)!

Why is IMAPS relevant?

Interoperability is more than a strategic priority on the political agenda. Today, it is expected to be standard practice in the day-to-day operations of public administrations across Europe. Public service owners are facing a number of challenges when it comes to delivering public services that are digital by default and interoperable in a cross-border context. IMAPS helps public service owners to overcome these challenges by giving them access to interoperability good practices.

What is IMAPS?

IMAPS is a self-assessment tool that helps public service owners to evaluate key interoperability aspects of their digital public service (legal, semantic, organisational, or technical) from a behavioural perspective and improve the interoperability maturity towards seamless service delivery.

  • IMAPS allows to view and monitor the service’s compliance with the New European Interoperability Framework (EIF).
  • IMAPS can be used to assess the interoperability of any public service – from online tax declaration to e-birth certificate or application for access to health records services;
  • IMAPS is applicable to services at all levels of government (international, national, regional and local).

What are the benefits for you?

You are involved in the design, development, management or delivery of a digital public service? The IMAPS assessment provides you with:

  • A report providing insights on areas for improvement of your digital public service and relevant interoperability enablers (e.g. prefilling, delivery channel, multilingualism, etc.);
  • An interoperability maturity score capturing the current maturity level of your digital public service (from ad hoc to seamless);
  • A set of recommendations tailored to your digital public service for improving its interoperability maturity with concrete actions;
  • A confirmation of conformance of your digital public service with the European Interoperability Framework (EIF).

How can you participate?

We kindly invite you to take part in the IMAPS assessment of your digital public service and submit your response by 31 July 2020. Your contribution will be handled confidentially and will not be disclosed without your prior approval.
