ISA² - Interoperability solutions for public administrations, businesses and citizens

Gertrud Ingestad presented the ISA² Programme interim evaluation results at the European Parliament

Gertrud Ingestad, Director General for Informatics at the European Commission, has presented the ISA² programme interim evaluation results to the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) and discussed the digital transformation of European public administrations with members of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) at the European Parliament in Brussels on 18 February.

During the presentation of the interim evaluation of the ISA2 programme to the members of ITRE, Ingestad stressed the need for the digitalisation of public administrations to be reflected in the next multiannual financial framework. The EU public sector depends on support to digitalise and simplify all bureaucratic processes and create added value for European citizens and businesses. Ingestad further emphasized the need to preserve the achievements of the ISA2 programme in order to build and shape fully digitalised public administrations across the EU. The presentation was followed by an exchange of views on supporting the digital transformation of European public administrations with members of IMCO. Ingestad highlighted the importance of digital public administrations as they are able to share data in a secure, efficient and trustworthy way which is also a precondition for the further development of the Digital Single Market.
