ISA² - Interoperability solutions for public administrations, businesses and citizens

First-ever Interoperability Academy Winter School is coming in December

Interoperability Academy Winter School

The European Commission’s ISA² Programme, together with the KU Leuven Public Governance Institute, is pleased to announce that the first-ever Interoperability Academy Winter School will take place in Leuven, Belgium on 11-13 December 2019. The KU Leuven Public Governance Institute is a coordinator of the jointly organised Erasmus Mundus PIONEER Master Program.

The Winter School will provide participants with practical and theoretical insights on how to develop and implement interoperability solutions for digital public services offered to citizens, business and other public administrations. Moreover, the Winter School will focus on public sector innovations and the future of digital transformation.

We invite students, professionals, academics, and others interested to participate.

Agenda

The programme is built around three topics, each day covering one of them:

  • Day 1 - ISA² and European Interoperability Framework
  • Day 2 - Public Sector Innovation
  • Day 3 - Future of Digital Transformation

Day 1 will offer an excellent opportunity to learn about the European Interoperability Framework, the ongoing work on interoperability by the European Commission and other European Commission initiatives supporting digital transformation of public administrations. Strong emphasis will be put on the use of interoperability tools developed under the ISA² Programme. On Day 2 participants will get familiar with the current public sector innovation activities at the European level. The presentations will also cover the planned activities that will support the adoption of emerging technologies in the public sector, in particular within the upcoming Digital Europe Programme. Day 3 will be dedicated to possible paths for the future of digital transformation in relation to governments.

In the afternoon of Day 1 and Day 2, participants will take part in interactive and practice-oriented workshops to share and stimulate their ideas and thoughts.

Every day a number of highly respected speakers from academia and the public sector will share their ideas and knowledge with the participants. Speakers will include among others Mrs. Natalia Aristimuño Pérez (Head of Interoperability Unit, European Commission), Prof. dr. ir. Marijn Janssen (TU Delft) and Prof. dr. Geert Bouckaert (KU Leuven). The full programme will be published in September.

All participants will receive a certificate stating their participation in the Winter School.
