ISA² - Interoperability solutions for public administrations, businesses and citizens

The CoEPM² publishes the first 'Programme Management Methodology Guide' and an Italian translation of the PM² Guide

The Centre of Excellence in PM² (CoEPM²), in cooperation with GSC.SMART-Digital Services (General Secretariat of the Council) is delighted to announce the release of the first ‘Programme Management Methodology’ Guide and an Italian version of the PM² Guide.

The PM²-Programme Management (PM²-PgM) guide has been developed to support institutions and organisations using PM² (the European Commission’s official Project Management Methodology) to effectively run their ‘Programmes’. It allows managers (practitioners) to easily implement, evaluate and improve the performance and effectiveness of programmes they are managing, and it includes techniques that are practical, simple to incorporate and encourage transparency throughout the organisation.

While PM²-PgM is fully aligned with PM² and developed upon its successful legacy, it also incorporates elements from a wide range of globally accepted programme management best-practices, described in standards and methodologies, as well as relevant operational experience from the European Institutions.

As well as providing programme management guidance and support, this newly-released guide includes:

  • A set of programme management processes and activities;
  • Guidelines for applying the processes and using the artefacts; and
  • A set of effective mindsets.

Download your guide from the Publications Office, and contact the team should you have any questions.

In view of making PM² available to a wider European  audience, the Centre of Excellence in PM² (CoEPM²) has closely worked with the open community of PM² users and is pleased to announce the release of the Italian version of the PM² Guide, which is now available to download from the EU Bookshop of the Publications Office. The translation of the guide is based on the latest English PM² guide version 3.0.1.

The CoEPM² would like to extend a sincere thanks to the Italian team of volunteers who have used their extensive knowledge and experience in Project Management to translate the guide, keeping the guide’s original format and ensuring the right terminology for an Italian-speaking audience.

This guide marks the second translation of the full guide, the summary of which is already available in 11 languages (Italian included), in an effort to make PM² available and accessible to a wider European audience and, thus, contributing to an efficient way of managing projects throughout the EU.

PM² is included in the EIF Tool Box (designed as a guidance for national public administrations to equip them with the necessary tools to align their National Interoperability Frameworks (NIFs) with the European Interoperability Framework (EIF), in order to promote interoperability at national and European level).  Material for a one-day course on PM² Essentials can be found at the Interoperability Academy - Catalogue of Educational Training Resources under the supporting instruments for public administrations.
