Annual work programme for implementation of single digital gateway adopted

SDG Interoperability

Annual work programme for the implementation of the single digital gateway regulation was published on 31 July 2019. The work programme specifies actions to facilitate the implementation and provides a detailed timeline for the various steps. The document covers the period from July 2019 to December 2020.

Regulation (EU) 2018/1724 establishing a single digital gateway aims at facilitating online access to the information, administrative procedures and assistance services that citizens and businesses need when moving within the EU or expanding their business into another country.

The Regulation foresees the adoption of an annual work programme. Its purpose is to specify actions to facilitate implementation of the Regulation, in particular:

  • to improve the provision and presentation of information on rights and obligations of citizens and businesses within the Single Market;
  • to facilitate work on the digitalisation of procedures and on the cross-border access to online procedures;
  • to ensure the consistent compliance with quality requirements on information, procedures and assistance services; and
  • to promote the gateway.

The work programme was published in the form of a Commission notice, as the Guidelines for the implementation of the single digital gateway Regulation - 2019-2020 work programme. It is available in 23 EU languages.

Implementation of the work programme will be monitored by the gateway coordination group gathering Member State representatives.
