ISA² - Interoperability solutions for public administrations, businesses and citizens

Let's discuss how to modernise public administrations through the sharing and reuse of IT solutions

How many times have you spent hours and money in never-ending paperwork to complete an administrative process? Even worse, how many times after that have you learnt that there is a tool or a service with which you could have done it more easily? Join us in Lisbon next March 29 and learn more!

The Sharing and Reuse of IT solutions is key for public administrations to perform more efficiently and to deliver better public services to citizens and businesses all across Europe. This is, in turn, one of the main goals of the Digital Single Market (DSM), which aims at making Europe the world leader in information and communication technology. But why is sharing and reuse so crucial? First, it makes public administrations more interoperable, which means that public authorities communicate information easily, without misunderstanding or delays, and across borders. Second, this flow of information minimises bureaucratic processes to just a few clicks. Result: your paperwork takes you a few minutes instead of a few weeks!

However, there is still a long way to go, since for this, all European public administrations need to be aligned and follow common rules. This is why the European Commission will host the Sharing & Reuse Conference 2017 next 29 March in Lisbon (Portugal). Our main goal is to have fruitful discussions on how to boost the sharing and reuse of IT solutions in the EU. How? By gathering representatives from all the parties involved in the modernisation of public administrations (legal, policy making, IT development and public administrations).

I will open the conference and give the floor to the Portuguese Minister of the Presidency and of Administrative Modernisation, Maria Manuel Leitão Marques. The President of AMA, Pedro Manuel Francisco da Silva Dias, will follow her. Just after, the keynote speaker, Tony Bosma, a futurist and trend watcher, will dive into the "future" by resetting our mental software. An extensive list of all speakers, also including Barbara-Chiara Ubaldi, leader of the OECD Digital Government Project at the Public Governance and Territorial Development Directorate, and Mario Campolargo, Deputy Director-General of DIGIT, will follow. Campolargo will close the conference and host the Sharing and Reuse Awards Ceremony, to be held right after the Conference. At the ceremony we will learn about the best examples of collaboration among public administrations to provide shared IT solutions.
