Implementation of the ISA² Programme action on IPv6 Framework for Public Administrations
In response to the declining availability of IPv4 addresses, the administrations of the member states in the European Union need to urgently address the transition to IPv6. In some cases there have already been major deployments. In other cases, the transition has not even started or has been not so smooth.
The workshop is organised along the following lines:
- Barriers to IPv6 adoption and lessons learned (for instance, from existing implementations and the results of the GEN6 project);
- Use Cases (Spain, Germany and The Netherlands) with an emphasis on the people who actually did the deployment;
- Roundtable where participants identify barriers to deployment;
- Wherever possible, matching of barriers to best practices, use cases and successful implementations; and,
- Messages to Member States and Associated Countries.
After the workshop is done, a document summarizing the barriers and potential solutions could be an immediate output.
