ISA² - Interoperability solutions for public administrations, businesses and citizens

Save the date: SEMIC is coming back on 8 December 2021

Save the date!

SEMIC, the annual semantic interoperability conference, is coming back on 8 December 2021!

The theme of #SEMIC2021 is “Human Centric Data Spaces – Powered by Interoperability”.

The event is organised by the Interoperability Unit of DIGIT in the European Commission, in collaboration with the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU and it will be held online for a second year in a roll.

What can you anticipate?

Over the past year, different sectors have announced preparatory work on data spaces aiming to foster a single market for data. Semantic interoperability plays a key role in this process enabling data to flow within the EU and across sectors. Therefore, #SEMIC2021 will bring together stakeholders and practitioners to discuss how data sets can be exchanged between data providers and consumers while protecting EU ethical and legal aspects, ensuring human centricity, and using emerging technologies.

Stay tuned on our Twitter and LinkedIn accounts to be the first to discover the conference programme, registration opening and other news around #SEMIC2021!

How was the previous SEMIC?

In 2020, we welcomed over 600 participants and 45 speakers from all around the world to our first digital edition of SEMIC! The theme was “Sustainable Data Services”. Policy makers, IT practitioners and researchers took part in multiple discussions on semantic interoperability for public administrations with a focus on linked and open data.
