Towards a renewed Comitology Register

Future Comitology Register

2018.04 Study on the future Comitology Register

FUNDING CONCLUDED

When is this action of interest to you?

While this action only concerns a study, the evolution of the Comitology Register is of interest for the EU Member State administrations and other EU institutions, as well as for stakeholders and citizens interested in particular policy areas or legislative instruments.

What is this action about?

This action will investigate how best to re-develop the Comitology Register. As such, it will analyse the best integration scenarios, both with the corporate Commission internal decision-making and meeting organisation tools, and with the more modern transmission tools (eTrustEx/E-Delivery). It will also look at the Register from a transparency perspective and suggest the way forward for the public interface. There is no development work in scope for this action, the purpose is only to analyse the best way forward, before moving to implementation in 2019.

What are the objectives?

The main objective of this action is to analyse how to best rebuild the Comitology Register. This is in order to make it interoperable, sustainable, more user-friendly, and better equipped to respond to the needs of EU Member State administrations, other institutions and stakeholders in general.

What has been achieved?

  • Development and successful launch of the Interinstitutional Register of Delegated Acts

What are the next steps?

The main objectives for 2020 are:

  • Finalize the integrations with other systems
  • Manage the transmission function from the new Register and validate and polish the new system before its launch
  • Develop an integrated Register of Delegated and Implementing Acts
