Glossary:Graduation - official development assistance

Graduation, in the context of official development assistance, refers to the moving up of a developing country from one category to the next (for example from lower middle income country to upper middle income country); it is the term used by OECD and other international organisations to indicate when a country’s economic status has improved enough to meet the criteria of a different category.
