Horizon 2020 DEFEND is an international partnership of academic, industrial and governmental organisations working together to tackle the emergence of African swine fever virus (ASFV) and lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV) in European livestock. The aim is to control the growing LSD and ASF epidemics by understanding what causes them to spread and by generating research on diagnostic tools and vaccines.
