Research need from Focus Group: How to make climate change adaptation incentives more effective and efficient?

Economic incentives have the power to boost changes in the right direction. Forestry and climate change adaptation is not an exception,  and several incentives are or might influence directly or indirectly silvicultural practices by end-users. However there's a lack of knowledge about the real impact of these incentives and therefore if their formulation is adequate or might be improved.

Climate change adaptation incentives should be user-oriented, responding to questions as:

• Under which conditions (social, political, and economic) do forest owners initiate change?
• What kind of incentives exist/are needed for different owners?
• How to set-up long term commitments and funding for integrated forest management adaptation in small landownership?

The idea is to be able to formulate efficient economic incentives to promote the adaptation to climate chante (e.g. climate smart silviculture, payment for ecosystem services)
