Promotion of Entrepreneurship

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (EIP) supports activities aiming at fostering entrepreneurship culture and creating better framework conditions for SMEs operating in EU.

Through contracts and grants an analytical work (i.e. studies) is undertaken focusing both on the horizontal perspective (innovation policy, SMEs) as well as on certain industrial sectors.

In addition, awareness raising activities and programmes are being organised to promote entrepreneurship culture in Europe, inter alia through the conferences, Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs and an Europe-wide European SME Week. A number of initiatives to encourage female starts-up have been launched including The European Network to Promote Women's Entrepreneurship (WES) and Female Entrepreneurship Ambassadors.
