In episode 13 of the Eurostat podcast series Stats in a Wrap, we will be taking a closer look at the EU’s cooperation with its neighbours and the enlargement countries in the field of statistics. We will explain the concept of the European neighbourhood and talk about EU-candidate countries and potential candidates.

To become an EU member, countries must meet many criteria and one of the key requirements is excellence in statistics.

Majda Savićević from MONSTAT, the official statistical office of Montenegro, and Avis Beneš, head of unit for enlargement, neighbourhood and development cooperation at Eurostat, take us on a journey to better understand how cooperation in statistics plays a key role in the process of EU accession.
