Quality
Data are validated through checks of
- consistency of breakdowns with totals
- consistency with previous year
- consistency between different sources (offences, victims, suspected, prosecuted, convicted),
- 0 values and empty tables.
In case of inconsistency, countries are invited to amend the data or provide explanations.
All the figures on offences, persons, and cases are presented in absolute numbers and related to the number of inhabitants in the country (per hundred thousands inhabitants).
