Eurostat provides organised groups of visitors with an insight into European official statistics: everything from a better understanding of their importance in daily life, through to detailed information on specific subject areas. Visiting groups can learn about the role of Eurostat and hear staff speak about its work.

Eurostat organises visits for groups from EU Member States as well as from other countries. Visits by university students, governmental bodies, and media representatives are especially popular.

Please note that Eurostat does not organise guided tours of its premises.

When and how

We welcome groups of 10 to 50 people for an in-person visit, and of at least 10 people for a virtual visit.

Visits can be arranged from Monday afternoon to Friday morning. Morning sessions are typically scheduled between 10.00 and 12.00, and afternoon sessions between 14.00 and 16.00.

Eurostat is closed on weekends, Luxembourgish public holidays, and specific holidays for the EU institutions. Visits may not be possible during peak holiday periods, such as August.

Visits to Eurostat are free of charge.

What we offer

We can provide 2 kinds of presentations during a visit:

  • a general overview of Eurostat, its role and work, and the products and services that we offer
  • a presentation on an area of specific interest.

Presentations are usually given in English. Presentations in other official languages of the EU may be possible in some cases, depending on the subject area and the availability of speakers.

Request a visit

To request a physical or virtual visit, please send an email to the Eurostat visits team with a description of your organisation, details about your group's size and interests, and any accessibility needs.

If you are a media representative, please contact the Eurostat press service.

As interest in visits to Eurostat is very high, please make your request at least 8 weeks ahead of the planned date. You should receive a confirmation within 2 weeks of submitting your request.

Eurostat may also cancel planned visits due to exceptional circumstances. Should you wish to cancel your visit, please contact the Eurostat visits team at least 2 weeks in advance of the scheduled visit.
