Ukraine: final adoption of CARE
The Council today adopted legislative amendments making it possible for member states to redirect resources from cohesion policy funds and the Fund for European Aid for the Most Deprived (FEAD) to assist the refugees escaping the Russian military aggression against Ukraine.

Ukraine: making it easier and quicker for Member States to use cohesion funding to support immediate needs of refugees
To further support Member States welcoming and accommodating refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine, the Commission has proposed a simplified financing procedure under 2014-2020 cohesion policy to tackle the additional costs involved.

Ukraine: €3.4 billion of increased EU pre-financing to Member States welcoming refugees fleeing Ukraine
To support Member States welcoming and accommodating refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine, the European Commission proposed to increase by €3.4 billion the total pre-financing from the Recovery Assistance for Cohesion and the Territories of Europe (REACT-EU). More than 3 million Ukrainians had to flee their country following Russia's invasion, this number is growing by the day.

REACT-EU: €12 million of additional resources for the recovery in Germany
The European Commission has granted additional €12 million to the European Social Fund (ESF) programme in Bavaria. It will support people most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic by funding projects related with teaching, child-care education, professional training as well as innovative measures for small and medium businesses (SME).

“Kohesio” the new online platform that gathers information from million projects financed by EU funds
The European Commission has launched Kohesio: a public online platform that in few clicks allows to discover exactly how the EU invests in regions and cities. Kohesio gathers information on more than 1.5 million projects financed since 2014 in all 27 EU countries.

Ukraine: Kohäsionsmittel zur Unterstützung von Menschen, die vor der Invasion der Ukraine durch Russland fliehen
Die Kommission hat einen Vorschlag für den Einsatz von Kohäsionsmitteln zugunsten von Flüchtlingen in Europa (Cohesion Action for Refugees in Europe/CARE) angenommen, der es den Mitgliedstaaten und Regionen ermöglichen soll, Menschen zu unterstützen, die vor der Invasion der Ukraine durch Russland fliehen. Mit CARE erhalten die kohäsionspolitischen Vorschriften die notwendige Flexibilität, damit die verfügbaren Mittel rasch auf solche Soforthilfen umgewidmet werden können.

Europäischer Fonds für die Anpassung an die Globalisierung: 2,8 Mio. EUR zur Unterstützung entlassener Arbeitskräfte in der spanischen Automobilindustrie
Die Europäische Kommission schlägt heute vor, 450 Arbeitskräfte, die ihren Arbeitsplatz in der Automobilindustrie in der spanischen Region Katalonien verloren haben, mit 2,8 Mio. EUR aus dem Europäischen Fonds für die Anpassung an die Globalisierung zugunsten entlassener Arbeitnehmer (EGF) zu unterstützen.
