Webinar: Apprenticeships in the care sector and social economy

On 4 May at 11:00 CEST, the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA) will host a webinar on apprenticeships in the care sector and social economy.

During the event, participants will discuss how apprenticeships can help to address challenges in the EU care sector, and aim to identify ways that social economy actors can contribute. The webinar will include an expert-led presentation on vocational excellence in health care, and presentations from a mixed panel representing policy makers, education providers, NGOs and cooperations across the EU.

The topics covered will include how apprenticeships and work-based learning can help to address:

  • skills shortages in the care sector;
  • the shift towards patient-centred care;
  • participation of social economy actors in the care sector.

The webinar will be moderated by Ana Carrero, Deputy Head of Unit in the European Commission, DG EMPL, B3 Unit - Vocational Education and TrainingIlias Livanos, Expert in skills trends and intelligence, Department for Skills and Labour Market, CEDEFOP, will offer a thematic introduction as part of the webinar.
