This report presents the key findings from the Mutual learning workshop on quality in long-term care, which took place on 19-20 June in Brussels. The workshop was combined with the first meeting of national long-term care coordinators/contact points. The workshop, which was attended by participants from 24 Member States, was designed to facilitate mutual learning on quality in long-term care. It aimed to explore in detail different aspects related to long-term care quality, which is one of the building blocks of the Council Recommendation on access to affordable high-quality long-term care. As Member States should inform the European Commission on their intended measures to implement the Recommendation 18 months after adoption, the workshop provided participants with an opportunity to exchange among themselves and with experts on challenges and best practices related to quality of long-term care, such as quality standards, quality assurance, as well as integrated care and person-centred approaches in long-term care.
