Glossary:Other expenditure in social protection

Miscellaneous expenditure carried out by social protection schemes, broken down into:

  • Property income: the income payable by the owner of a financial asset or a tangible non-produced asset in turn for providing funds to, or putting the tangible non-produced asset at the disposal of the scheme via the institutional unit supporting it. In practice, this item usually refers to actual interest payable by the scheme to banks and other creditors in respect of loans taken up.
  • Other: includes all miscellaneous payments not attributable elsewhere such as the payment of taxes on income or wealth.
