The first issue in 2003 assesses the current economic situation in the euro area where growth has turned out to be significantly weaker than anticipated. The report also contains two analytical chapters, focusing, respectively, on the consequences of a possible conflict in Iraq on the economy of the euro-area and on the role of financial markets in promoting sound public finances in EMU.
