Joint EC-EPEC Private Sector Forum: PPPs for Energy Efficiency and Environment

Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission and the European PPP Expertise Centre (EPEC), in cooperation with the European Economic and Social Committee, organise the meetings of the Private Sector Forum. These biannual events have proven to be a valuable source of information for the private sector on the Commission’s and EPEC's work on PPP (Public-Private Partnerships) as well as a sounding board for new ideas.

The second event in 2011 took place in Brussels on the 8th of November and the main topic of discussion was "PPPs for Energy Efficiency and Environment".

Participants have been brought up to date with the latest Commission and EIB initiatives in the PPP market in an open dialogue between these Institutions and the Private Sector on EU Support for Energy Efficiency and Environment. Further, the private sector shared their views on the current trends and the role of PPPs in the future of financing energy efficiency and environmental infrastructure.
