Taking on shortages of raw materials
Experts described the availability of a selection of 14 raw materials as critical, due to their high supply risks and particular importance for the economic value chain. The demand of these materials is not only under pressure due to the growth of developing economies, but also by the rapid diffusion of new emerging technologies. To ensure that Europe’s industry will be able to continue to play a leading role in new technologies and innovation, efforts must be made to ensure that access to raw materials for enterprises will not be hampered.
